Integrating with Leadsimple
Integrating Geek with Leadsimple is simple. Get the import email from within Leadsimple (Instructions on how to so here). Once you have obtained that email address, go into your Geek Dashboard account and select "Update Notification Emails" from the menu. There will be an input box for Import emails at the bottom of the pop-up. Place it there and your setup is complete.
Integrating with Other CRMs
We've received requests to integrate with just about every CRM over the course of Geek's history and it's just not practical to have instructions for each service. That being said, we've provided a couple options (and some general instructions) that will allow you to integrate almost any CRM you might be using.
If you're in doubt over which of the following options will work for your CRM, look at their help docs or reach out to them directly.
Option 1: Import via email
The simplest option, if your CRM has the option, is to obtain a special email from them. We can send our leads here and then it will automatically parse them and input them into the CRM. To set this up, once you have obtained that email address, go into your Geek Dashboard account and select "Update Notification Emails" from the menu. There will be an input box for Import emails at the bottom of the pop-up. Place it there and your setup is complete.
Option 2: Import via Zapier's Webhook
A webhook is a "middle man" url that we can send our information to, but then you decide what happens with that information. The easiest way to set this up is with a free account with Zapier. Here is a brief outline of setting things up.
- Sign up for a Zapier account (requires a Starter plan).
- Create a new "zap", selecting "Webhooks by Zapier" (make the event "catch hook") as the trigger for the zap. It will give you Webhook URL, which you should copy.
- Go into the Geek Dashboard and go to the "Update Notification Emails" option in the menu. There will be an input to place your webhook URL.
- Once you've placed this URL in the Geek Dashboard, in the same "Update Notification Emails" popup, there will be a "send test lead" button. Click that and return to Zapier.
- Your webhook trigger will be looking for new information sent to the URL, which it should have received once you sent along the test lead. You should see that it was a success and test data should show up in Zapier.
- You'll then need to add your CRM as the next step in the Zap. Please reach out to your CRM support for help setting this up.
Option 3: Import via Zapier's Email Parser
An email parser will take an email that is sent to it and pull distinct pieces of information out of it, so you can put those pieces of information into your CRM fields. The easiest way to set this up is with a free account with Zapier. Here is a brief outline of setting things up.
- Sign up for a free Zapier account.
- Create a new "zap", selecting "Email Parser by Zapier" (make the event "catch hook") as the trigger for the zap. You will need to setup an account and create a new mailbox. Copy the email address they give you for the mailbox.
- Go into the Geek Dashboard and go to the "Update Notification Emails" option in the menu. There will be an input to place your mailbox email from the parser.
- Once you've placed this email address in the Geek Dashboard, in the same "Update Notification Emails" popup, there will be a "send test lead" button. Click that and return to the Email Parser.
- Your mailbox will be looking for an email, which it should have received once you sent along the test lead. You should see that it was a success and be prompted to select which information will correspond to what name. View this video for instructions on how to do this.
- Go back to the Zap you've been creating in Zapier. Select your newly created mailbox in the trigger step, then click to continue to the next step.
- You'll then need to add your CRM as the next step in the Zap. Please reach out to your CRM support if you need help setting this up, or use one of our templates below to get you started.
